"Maria Lane brings a haunting vulnerability to Carrie White, crafting a nuanced portrayal that evolves from a shrinking violet to a force of nature. Her transformation feels organic, making the character’s tragic arc all the more devastating. The awkward mannerisms and hesitant body language of early scenes give way to moments of hopeful blossoming, only to shatter spectacularly in the production’s climactic moments. Lane’s voice perfectly mirrors this evolution – initially quiet and unsure during “Carrie,” growing in confidence through “Why Not Me?,” and finally exploding with raw power in the prom scene. Her ability to shift between Carrie’s yearning for acceptance and her telekinetic rage is masterful, particularly in moments where both emotions exist simultaneously. Even in Carrie’s most violent scenes, Lane maintains traces of the character’s underlying vulnerability, reminding us that beneath the supernatural terror lies a deeply hurt young girl who just wanted to belong."

"Maria Lane leads the cast as Carrie White with a clear passion and admiration for the character and the story. Lane skillfully portrays an intense inner panic of Carrie whilst keeping a calm demeanor, masking a cornered girl who may be forced to bite, this bite and an accompanying edge Lane lends to the titular teen, giving Carrie a healthy dose of foreshadowing that she may not be all she seems to be. It's only through Carrie's solo numbers which Lane performs with the breath of realism and control of a professional do we hear Carrie's beautiful inner plea."

Ever since I was little I loved diving into characters and playing dress up and playing pretend, and singing. When I was 7 I was cast as my first lead "Jojo" in "Sueussical The Musical" and I felt this new feeling I have never felt before, and that is where my love for storytelling began. Performing is my safe place in life, it feels like the place where I can fully be myself and express myself fully. Growing up as a really emotional person, you are often told your emotions are too much and you carry shame for having those emotions. Storytelling is a great outlet to get those emotions out and make others feel a little less alone. I want to be an artist who inspires others to dream big, because so many others have also inspired me.
